Museums can be problematic in this way, but they present their collections as though they represent whole, unambiguous truths; placing themselves as authorities of the past, deciding which stories to tell and which to forget.

At the Museum of Imagined History, we are interested in how the presentation of objects in museological contexts can inform its reading and value. We want you to question what you see and how it fits (or doesn't) into a historical world view. Don't take our word for the completeness of our stories or collections; this is a place to be curious, sceptical and questioning.
